The Firm
Colin Tunstall Accountants was formed over 30 years ago and have been helping clients ever since through the provision of a full range of services you’d normally expect from an accountancy practice. However, we pride ourselves on the all-round expertise we have developed over the many years we have been in practice and we have a true value for personal relationships with our clients.
The firm is led by Michael Nelson who is supported by a small dedicated team of qualified and experienced accounts and tax staff. The firm is registered and regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and is a member of the ICAEW Practice Assurance scheme.
Meet the team
Michael Nelson
Michael is a qualified Chartered Accountant, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors. With 20 years’ experience in audit and accountancy, Michael has the technical knowledge and experience required to give you a professional yet personal service.
Michael will act as the primary point of contact making sure you get the advice you need. He will be responsible for making everything happen on time, every time.
Becky Taylor
Becky has recently changed her career path from care to accountancy. She is now our dedicated payroll officer and administrator, as well as preparing accounts in between these roles. She is hoping to start her AAT qualification in September. Outside of work, Becky is a foster carer and is involved in the youth work at her church. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Ben Dodd
Ben is an AAT apprentice, currently studying at Level 4. He is building up his knowledge of accountancy and taxation through both his studies and his role in the office. Outside of work, Ben's interests include football, following LFC, music and socialising with his friends.
Neil Young
Neil is AAT qualified up to level 4. His background is manufacturing, however, he decided to see things from the other side of the fence and embarked upon a financial qualification a few years ago. Neil now prepares accounts, tax returns and VAT returns. Outside of work, Neil is an Everton season ticket holder.
Colin Tunstall
Colin is the founder of CTL. He works with the firm on a consultancy basis. He has a wealth of experience in accountancy, taxation, small and medium companies and general business advisory services. Outside of work, Colin is interested in sports - particularly football and rugby.
